Are you proud of your brand? Is there a brand out there you like more than your brand? If you aren’t in love with it, and some people and businesses aren’t, then you probably aren’t marketing yourself and your business like you should – therefore you aren’t growing like you should. In a competitive and overly populated industry you will not see the success you desire if you are not 100% on board with your brand. Here is the scary part, your consumers and audience can see immediately if your brand aligns with you and your business. If the brand is fractured it can impact the growth and retention of your client base and even staff.
1. A Brand:
A brand should be defined because it defines you. A brand cannot go against who you are and what you do, nor should it be chosen just because it sounds good. You and your work must be in sync and in every aspect be defined by this brand. The staff you hire should also be reflective of your brand.
2. Be Focused:
What do you do? Are you a restaurateur, real estate agent, store owner, landscape company, , beauty professional, cleaning company, dentist, medical professional? A million other people do exactly what you do… what makes you different? If your brand cannot translate these details it was not developed far enough to be a strong brand.
3. The Message:
Simple question, does your brand message tell your story? Does it communicate effectively to those who see/hear it? Part of a strong brand is translating your message - think about Target, you need something and go to their store and get it. Did you see the message? They target their product by what you need. Amazon does the same thing, the Amazon itself is massive and parts of it probably unexplored. In the same way they have built their online store to be reflective of that concept.
4. Be Everywhere:
Your brand needs to be everywhere, like a cleverly disguised GPS guiding people into your store, or solutions. If it is designed and developed well it will clearly and easily communicate you and your business drawing people in.
5. The Look:
Your brand needs to scream you. Whether that’s rocky-chic, modern and clean, Masculine and strong, or elegant vintage – your branding must be eye catching and identifiable right off the bat. This ensures brand recognition and a uniqueness that is yours to own.
